ALSTOM Hong Kong Limited has been a major supplier of trains, signaling systems, infrastructure and services (maintenance, renovation and parts supply) to MTR Corporation over the last 40 years. Since the first metro project in Hong Kong in 1975, ALSTOM Hong Kong Limited has supplied over 1,100 metro cars for its metro network and equipped seven lines with signaling systems currently in operation, contributing positively to the urban transport system development in Hong Kong.

We are looking for Planning Manager based in Hong Kong to join our dynamic team. We deliver multiple signaling projects to our customer MTR with dedication to sustainable and smart mobility in the field of design, engineering, installation and test & commissioning. What are my responsibilities?

  • Participate to the validation of the project baseline

Provide a timely updated schedule situation highlighting the gap between the actual and the baseline (P6, Excel and Narrative)

Build the project schedule for his area based on internal standard WBS, contractual targets and data provided by all stakeholders

Initiate the weekly dashboards to monitor the progress

Prepare schedule and progress reports (update master program, generate progress S-curves, critical paths and manpower histogram)

Prepare planning reports for internal & external meeting and for analysis of unit prices, material consumptions, actual unit man‐hours cost control and project budget planning

Focus on early identification of potential delays (critical paths) including the status on risks and margin related to schedule

Work closely with Contract Manager to record the delay and disruption events

Liaise and collaborate with various operation team: Engineering, Procurement, Installation, Test & Commissioning, Finance, etc.

Ensure the consistency of all the internal and external Stakeholders commitments, and manages the schedules interfaces

Perform schedule analysis & trade-offs to close identified gaps or schedule issues

What do I need to qualify for this job?

Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline

5+ year experience in project management background/ industrial company preferred (subject to candidate’s experience, this position is open to Planning Manager or Planning Engineer)

Project scheduler/ Project scheduling processes experience is a plus

Primavera P6 practical experience is essential

Excellent MS Excel skills is a MUST

Punctual, accurate, analytical, articulate, able to work under time pressure are expected

Agility to juggle with schedules simulations, various scenarios, and changing project goals

Excellent team worker, proactive, and detailed oriented

Knowledge of railways products and systems will be a plus
