Job Description
VIBRANT AND VITAL VTC
Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 1982, has always been at the forefront of vocational and professional education and training (VPET). As a statutory body, we exist within Hong Kong education system to ensure the skills of the Hong Kong workforce remain fresh and future ready. Major Duties:
(a) To perform teaching duties including supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement;
(b) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
(c) To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;
(d) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; and
(e) To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions, including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.
Requirements:
(a) A relevant recognised degree or professional qualification, preferably with a relevant postgraduate qualification;
(b) At least 3 years’ full-timerelevant teaching and/or industry experience;
(c) Applicants should have a valid ISA Certified Arborist or Certified Arborist Municipal Specialist or Board Certified Master Arborist credential(s); or Technician Member, Professional Member or Fellow of the Arboricultural Association of the United Kingdom; or European Tree Technician of the European Arboricultural Council; Registered Qualified Arborist, Registered Practicing Arborist, Registered Consulting Arborist or Registered Consulting and Practicing Arborist of Arboriculture Australia; or equivalent;
(d) Good communication, teaching and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese; and
(e) Candidates with valid qualifications in any of the following areas would be an advantage:
(i) ISA Certified Tree Worker Climber Specialist credential or equivalent; and/or
(ii) Tree Risk Assessment Qualification issued by ISA / Professional Tree Inspection certificate issued by LANTRA Awards of the United Kingdom or equivalent.
Note:
Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment in English and make a presentation at the interview.
